Welcome to the Creed Mailing list...
you are here because at some point, you asked to be subscribed to it... don't
deny it, it really happened.
Be prepared to receive
anywhere up to several hundred emails a day. Some days are slower than others,
so you may only receive 50-100 emails. In the past, on some days you would have
received 400+.
During slower periods, we will discuss
other topics and/or issues, and tend to mark these un-related posts with
NCR. Any message marked with NCR means : Not Creed Related. So if you're
here JUST for the Creed stuff, go ahead and delete those emails, but I assure
you, most of the discussions are fun and you're more than welcome to join in at
any time!
We're all pretty open here. Some of us have been
on the list for a few years, some a few days, but we accept everyone, as long as
you're tolerant of each other and are here to have fun!
If
you want to check out stats on people on the list (and at the same time cut down
on asl requests), be sure to visit http://www.creedlisters.com. Add your own while
you're at it by going to http://www.geocities.com/creedlisters/Submit.html!
List archives are available at http://www.creedlisters.com/archives, but as these are
maintained by a list member (who happens to be a lazy bastard at the
moment...btw, it's me, so if you need something particular, request it), they
are only periodically updated.
If you ever have any
questions, feel free to ask the list, we'd be more than happy to
help!
Just a few quick notes though:
- The list has a 50 KB limit per post...
counting all headers. HTML (Rich Text) e-mail is not always a good idea
for here... it may look nice, but the list will almost triple the number of
lines in that post before sending it, cutting down the length you are allowed to
around 60 lines... plain text works best.
- For the sanity of
other list members, please include part of the original message in your replies,
so that everyone knows what it is you are replying to.
-
Emoticons, although making an e-mail look nice, are considered binary
attachments... and although they manage to get through the list filters, several
subscribers e-mail accounts will not accept them. Unless you can handle
receiving several error and "undeliverable" messages for each post sent, try to
steer clear of emoticons.
- Creed recently resumed their
Weathered World Tour... and are planning on returning to many of the States, as
well as those that have been missed for whatever reason, in Summer 2003.
If Creed has not yet been to your area, keep an eye on Creed.com, and join Creed
e-news to be kept up to date on new concert dates as they become
available.
- The third album, "Weathered", was released November
20th, 2001, and held #1 for 8 weeks strait. There is, as yet, no solid
plans for the fourth album, but keep tuned to creed.com or Creed e-news for any
details as they become available. There are rumors that a 4th album will
be released following the Weathered World Tour... along with the LONG-LONG
awaited Creed VHS/DVD.
- You can sample the entire album
"Weathered" in streaming audio at http://creednet.com/audio/weathered/weathered.html
- Please try to refrain from sending virus warnings or e-mail forwards to the
list... especially if you have not confirmed the mail at a reputable source,
like http://www.snopes2.com and http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/hoaxes/hoax.asp.
- "Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who
doesn't get it." Sarcasm will play a big part here... always keep that in
the back of your mind when reading posts... it will save everyone lots of
trouble and fights.
- NP = Now Playing. You'll find this
tagged at the bottom of many posts... it is just the way of informing the
readers of what the writer is listening to on the stereo or MP3 while they are
writing their post... also a good way of knowing who listens to what, and
hearing a bit about some new bands.
- The list is currently in
UNMODERATED mode... This means there is no wait between posting and seeing it on
the list. But don't abuse your right to be here, or the mode will be
changed, or you will be removed from the list by the admins.
-
To replace the now-closed Bulletin Board, one of the list members started a BB
on his homepage, and set it up in much the same way as the one on
Creed.com. The URL is http://www.creedlisters.com/BB. Feel free to post
there.
- Problem with your computer or problems with setting
yourself up with the list, feel free to mail me (NightStorm_Draco@isyourgod.com) and I'll do everything
I can to help... to keep it off the list more than anything
else.
- CREED DOES NOT POST TO, OR READ, THIS MAILING LIST. If
you'd like to get ahold of them post on the bulletin boards (closed down March
28, 2002), as they've been known to read those, or mail them
at:

- If you want off the list, don't mail the list and
ask for it. The directions are included in the initial mail you received
after subscribing, as well as at the bottom of 95% of the mail that comes from
the list. The directions are also included in this post, near the
bottom. Don't expect anyone else here to do it for you... you need to go
and remove yourself. If you ask to the list, be ready for some slamming
from the other list members.
Info and instructions on how to remove yourself
is included in your first mail from the listserv. It is suggested that you
keep that (or this) mail, and read it over.
- And last but not
least...we're all here because we love Creed. A lot of us have made friends on
this list. Just because it may seem kind of cliquey, doesn't mean we won't
accept you! We love making new friends, so introduce yourself, and jump on
in!
